Check out this amazing Halloween dessert table! I am all about using color and pattern to develop a theme rather than using a lot of gimmicky elements. This is fun for a kid's party and chic for an adult party. Works great for both! Take a look at all the details! Kimberlee Miller Photography Studio really captures it all!

It is essential to have some sort of a backdrop for your dessert table in order to create a distinct space for this focal point of your event. White, plain walls are so bare and boring, but if that's all you have to work with then there are solutions. One idea is to hang something from above. Depending on the type of event, this can include anything from tissue paper or tulle balls, paper lanterns, light bulbs, or flowers. Make sure to use fishing rod when hanging your decor in order to create more of an illusion. Another idea is to hang something on the wall behind the table. For example, you can use a large piece of patterned or solid colored fabric or even a painted piece of plywood. You can even use foam board covered in fabric or wrapping paper. If all these options seem a little too ambitious for you to attempt than you can simply use some sort of table props to fit the concept of your event. Maybe a tall vase with branches or a painted picture. Get creative and have fun with it!!
Sometimes just using subtle acccents of color can really make an impact. Color scheme and patterns are really important in the overall look of the table. This table is the perfect example of not going overboard with colors, but rather just making sure that there is some pop of color throughout. Notice that texture and pattern can easily make up for a lack of color. The cake, cupcake holders, and hanging paper balls all add subtle elements of color, texture, and pattern in a simply elegant manner.

I LOVE to label everything on a dessert table! My husband always asks, "don't people already know what the dessert is?" Well of course they do Mr. Practicality, but labelimg definitely adds to your play on color and concept and allows you to create so much more visual appeal. Make sure to choose a font that goes along with the concept of the party and always keep the font style cohesive for all labels. Also, layering the labels with different colored and textured paper looks even more amazing! Check out these plain white dessert boxes that look so much nicer with this patterned label sticker that reads "Sugar & Spice Everything Nice." Loved incorportating this lattice pattern on everything including the custom invitations by Proskalo.

Check out this gorgeous dessert table designed for a Baptism reception. Loved using a turquoise, royal blue, and white color combo along with a burlap linen underlay for texture to fit the event's beach concept. Create a name banner backdrop by painting wooden letters and gluing them on to a ribbon. So simple and chic!
